1.
I’ve watched the time ticking by, I’ve watched the tide going out, I’ve watched the river flowing away, But never have I felt this way. I’ve stood beneath the pouring rain, I’ve stood under the darkest cloud I’ve walked away when I wanted to stay But never have I felt this way I felt numb after you’d gone, I even felt that I couldn’t go on, I wrote about you in a song Because I’ve never felt this way
2.
Left on my own, I have struggled beyond belief, Since you’ve gone, My whole world, my whole being, Is all upside down, But there’s comfort in knowing you’re ok, Because I’ve been shown. I’ve cried you a river, Because you’ve gone home, I’ve cried you a river, I’m crying for you. When I sleep, visit me, tell me stories, Of where you have been, Let us talk, let us laugh, let us dance, Like we used to do, Promise me you’ll be waiting, When my time has come. I miss you too much, ‘cause I’m stuck in a world without you, And the pain is at times, Just too much to bear

Your smile was so warming, Like the sunshine in spring, You made me feel wanted, You made me sing, Your heart was of gold, It brimmed with kindness, Your words they spread happiness A breath of fine air. This is my memory of you This is my memory of you This is my memory of you This is my memory of you You were so full of life And I laughed with you lots, Sitting out in the car, Playing music by night, I remember the times, When we sat huddled close, In our flat with no heating Keeping warm as we could
4.
My Lord 02:38
I’m down on my knees again my Lord, And I pray that you’ll help me like before, I don’t know what to do, So I am turning to you, ‘Cause I’m down on my knees again my Lord. I’m down on my knees again my Lord, A love of mine you’ve taken I think too soon, He wasn’t here long, And I’m sure you’re making me strong, But I’m asking for help again My Lord. I’m down on my knees again my Lord, Let me know that he’s with you in the fold, I’m crying out to you, In life I’ve grown so cold, Please help me again my Lord.

The Dream 03:34
I had a dream that we were floating on air, We caught a cloud and decided that we would rest there, The cloud burst and I knew that we were falling, This is the end of my story, goodbye and I love you. I had a dream that we were floating on air, Now you’ve gone, there’s nothing left to share. I had a dream, I had a dream, I had a dream.
6.
On that night in December, I did cry to the heavens, Take him home, All ye angels, Take him home. And I fell to my knees, And I prayed to above, Oh my Lord, Take him home, Take him home. Oh my Lord send your angels, Please send your angels out tonight, Oh Lord send your angels, Please come and gather him tonight, Gather him for heaven, Take up his soul for me on this night, This lonely night, This dark night. Take him home all ye angels take him home.
7.
I lay awake, Thinking of you and what you’re doing up there In the sky, I find it hard, Hard to live in this world, now you’ve gone, Nothing’s the same, Nothing’s the same, Nothing’s the same. Please excuse me, As I wipe this tear out of my eye, I wanna cry, I wanna cry, Because you’ve gone, Because you’ve gone, Because you’ve gone.

Sailed Away 03:30
You were born, you were free, You were witty and entertained me, You made me laugh, you taught me lots, But you drank too much. You were kind, you cared deeply, About your friends and your family, Your generous spirit, was always warm, But you drank too much. CHORUS - Sailed away, you’ve sailed away, Gone to heaven, And left me in pain, This life is short, I’ll see you soon, I’ll see you soon. You were there, we were soul mates, Singing songs and playing the fool, You’d drink too much and I’d get mad, But I still loved you. ENDING - He was born, he was free, Lived his life as he wanted to be, How we laughed, how we cried, Please comfort me.
9.
I will float on that cloud tonight, Up in the sky to be with you, I miss you, it really hurts, I know one day I’ll be there, I know one day I’ll be there. Chorus – I know I’ll be there, I know I’ll be there, Help me Lord to walk through the dark, Through the grief and emerge un-scared, Help me see reason, within my pain, I know I’ll see him again, I know I’ll see him again. Surrounded by people, when you left this plane, Grieving together, all in your name, The loneliness strikes, but I know I’ll be, Back in your arms again, Back in your arms again.
10.
You patiently wait, ‘till they’ve all gone to bed, Now you feel, you can finally break down, Release the pain. Clutching at something, Something that was hers, A substitution of what remains, Another reminder, of who has passed, Painful emotions, yet you’re numb. Chorus Little white feathers, They are sent to you, This is a sign, For your fragile mind, A present to prove, That she’s watching over you. Give it some time, and your pain will subside, Along with your dreams, The most vivid you’ve had to date. I know you’re hurting, and no words can ease your pain, But mourn for those, she’s left behind, Because you know, that she is fine, All because …

about

In Memory of Garth.
Special, enormous thanks to Nicholas Turner for pushing me to make this album.
I realise now that the process of recording the album Little White Feathers had been very cathartic, and as cliché as it is, time was also a healer. I also realise that one never gets over the death of a loved one, one simply learns to live with it.
